The Book of Exodus, Chapter 7

This chapter is about Aaron being Moses’ spokesman. Also this chapter also covers Aaron’s staff becoming a snake & the first plague, which is blood. There are 10 plagues, in total. Which I’ll be covering in the next 4 chapters. I hope y’all enjoy the read!

Moses was 80 & Aaron was 83 years old when they spoke to Pharaoh. God told them to perform the snake-staff miracle for Pharaoh. So the brothers went to Pharaoh & did as God told them. Aaron threw down his staff before Pharaoh & the staff became a snake.

Pharaoh summoned his “wise men & sorcerers & magicians,” who also could do the same thing! They were also able to turn their staffs into snakes. The bible says they did this by using their “secret arts.” (Whatever that is. I would assume that it would probably be the Egyptian mystery school(s). You know, the one(s) that everyone wants to know about.) But Aaron’s snake-staff ate the others’ snake-staffs. But the Pharaoh’s heart was hardened. He would listen to the brothers, just like God had said.

God then tells Moses: “Go to Pharaoh tomorrow morning when he goes to the Nile. Wait by the banks of the Nile to meet him. Take with you the snake-staff. Then say to him: ‘The God of the Hebrews has sent me to you to say to let us go into the desert to worship me. You will know that I’m God.’ I’ll take my staff & strike the water of the Nile. The waters will turn into blood. The fish in the Nile will die. The river will stink. The Egyptains won’t be able to drink the water. Tell Aaron to take his staff & stretch it out over the waters of Egypt & they’ll turn to blood. Blood will be everywhere in Egypt, even in their buckets.”

Moses & Aaron did as God told them. He raised his staff, in front of Pharaoh & all his people, & struck the water of the Nile. All the water was changed to blood. The fish all died, the river smelled so bad that eh Egyptians couldn’t drink its water. Blood was EVERYWHERE throughout Egypt. But Pharaoh’s magicians & other magic “users” by using their “secret arts.”

Pharaoh’s heart became hard. Instead, he went back home to his palace. He took none of this to heart. All of the Egyptians dug along the Nile to get water for drinking because they couldn’t drink the water from the river.
